A number of friends have asked me why the company I was working for and myself parted company just before Christmas, but that\u2019s a long story which I\u2019ll condense and talk about later.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For now though I\u2019ve only just recovered from a month in Goa \u2013 from temperatures ranging from between 30-35C and coming home to anything between freezing and 6-7C, so it has been a shock to the system.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re off again next month to Cape Verde, which is probably the most relaxing place I\u2019ve ever been and where there is really only one season \u2026 summer.<\/p>\n

This was the first time I\u2019ve been to Goa in high season, so apart from being hotter than I\u2019m used to it was also manically busy. The journey over was a bit of a trek too, with three outward flights over two days.<\/p>\n

The best way to get around this holiday hotspot is by scooter (or taxi if you\u2019re heading into the capital Panjim), but the potholes are worse than I\u2019ve ever seen them with some a few feet in diameter and a foot deep.<\/p>\n

My first couple of days on the two-wheeler were a continual slalom trying to avoid the holes in the road, but as with everything else you eventually get used to them.<\/p>\n

I may well revisit this later, but I\u2019ll leave just now with a selection of pictures.<\/p>\n
